DIARY Snapshot Reports.01/03/18 Sports Day. Our School Sports Day will be held on Tuesday March 6 and all parents/care-givers are invited to attend. Please ring the school, tel and our Front Office staff will assist you. Other school staff who may be able to assist are Year Level Managers, Student Counsellor, Assistant and Deputy Principals or myself. Finally, I would like to remind you that if you have an issue or concern, please raise it with your child s Care Group or Subject teacher. A nomination form is attached to this newsletter. Our Governing Council is made up of parent, community, and school staff representatives and it s a great way to get involved and contribute to the school. All parents and care-givers are invited to attend the school s Annual General Meeting on March 21 at 7.00pm in the Library and to nominate to join the school s Governing Council.

This is to underline how important excellent attendance is to enable students to do their best at school. Emillie Abbott 2017 Dux of PHHS Please note that students must maintain a 90% or above attendance rate to take their school laptop home. Parent meetings have begun to issue laptops to students, starting with year 12 students. we have been working with the architects to design our new performing arts facilities, which will incorporate new studios and performance spaces for Dance, Drama and Music students. This completes the 1:1 laptop program that we began in 2017 with Year 11 and 12 students. At that first assembly, we welcomed approximately 100 year 8 students into mainstream and Disability Unit classes as well as new students in years Congratulations also go to Terrel Rigney who completed the SACE in 2017, while he was in Year 11, and to Matthew Stronskyj, one of our Year 12 students in 2017, who won a scholarship to the University of Adelaide is going to be exciting for a number of reasons: our Science and Maths buildings are going to be fully renovated we have taken delivery of 300 new laptops that will be issued to year 8 10 students. Emillie was offered a place in the Bachelor of Design course at UniSA, which was her first choice. She was presented with the award at the assembly on the first day of this term. Congratulations to Emillie Abbott, who won the 2017 Dux of the School award. Check your child s school diary for details. Just a reminder that trousers and shorts should be plain navy, leggings are not allowed, and Year 8 students must wear our new school shorts. Sincere thanks also to parents and students for supporting our school s uniform requirements.
